Posted by: Gary Gray

The US DVD release date for Ghost Rider has been set by Sony as the 12th June and it is going to come out in a plethora of releases, all of which we have the details of.

There will be a one-disc theatrical version.
Then there's a two-disc extended cut with 15 minutes of never-before-seen footage and over two hours of special features.

Viewers will get a chance to go behind-the-action with the DVD bonus feature “Spirit of Vengeance: The Making of Ghost Rider,” which includes commentary with director/writer Mark Steven Johnson (Daredevil). The Extended Cut also includes “Sin and Salvation,” which delves into the history of the Ghost Rider comics and how it became a hit. Animatics are also featured.

The Extended Cut of Ghost Rider also includes an additional 15 minutes of never-before-seen footage with additional scenes that include more back-story between Johnny Blaze (Nicolas Cage) and his father, additional scenes between Johnny and evil incarnate Mephistopheles (Peter Fonda) and an intense confrontation between the Caretaker (Sam Elliot) and Blackheart (Wes Bentley).

The Theatrical One-Disc edition is available in separate Widescreen and Full Screen versions and presents the film with English DTS 5.1 Surround, English and French DD5.1 Surround audio and English, French and Spanish subtitles. The Extended Two-Disc edition is available in Widescreen only and offers the same audio and subtitle options as the Theatrical One-Disc edition.

Theatrical One-Disc DVD Bonus Features Include:

* Theatrical version of the film
* “Spirit of Vengeance: The Making of Ghost Rider” documentary
* Film commentary with director/writer Mark Steven Johnson and VFX Supervisor Kevin Mack
