Contender Home Entertainment have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of The Oxford Murders on 1st September 2008 priced at £15.99. Based on the Argentine author Guillermo Martinez’s 2003 novel, this crime thriller is directed by Alex de la Iglesia and stars Elijah Wood, John Hurt, Leonor Watling. Julie Cox and Jim Carter.
The film follows Martin (Elijah Wood), a young American graduate who moves to Oxford to study mathematics at the city’s university under the guidance of the prestigious Professor of Logic Arthur Seldcom (John Hurt). After the sudden death of his landlady, Mrs Eagleton, an old lady who once helped decipher the Enigma Code, Martin is drawn into a complex murder mystery and joins forces with Seldom to stop a sequence of bizarre murders which are mysteriously linked by mathematical symbols.
