Headline: Kidman FINALLY confirmed for Golden Compass!

That's it confirmed after all the rumours that she'd take the role. Nicole Kidman will play the villainess Mrs. Coulter in the first part of the His Dark Materials trilogy: The Golden Compass. New Line Cinema are planning on filming for this summer with a 16th November 2007 release date. Chris Weitz is writing and directing the tale of Lyra Belacqua (being played by Dakota Blue Richards) who travels to a parallel universe to battle the forces of evil and rescue her best friend. Producing are Deborah Forte and Bill Carraro.
