Urban Legends: Bloody Mary (2005) Synopsis:

Urban Legends: Bloody Mary (2005) DVD Review:

Homecoming 1969: when a drunken prank goes disastrously wrong, a girl is murdered and… blah, blah, blah, blah.

If back in the nineties, Urban Legend was an acceptable addition to the growing number of novelty slashers, and Final Cut was a barely passable sequel hardly credible for a cinema release, then, Bloody Mary has about as much relevance as its title does to its own baffling premise.

Made for girls at slumber parties – and probably made BY girls at a slumber party – this instalment in the Legends trilogy is a groaning fiend – hell-bent on ripping off every contemporary horror that springs to mind.

Jerky edits and misplaced ‘scares’ start the list, charting the films faults. Chuck in a cliché spewing hippy, ridiculous CG spiders and a Ringu-esque monster too ridiculous to even bear mentioning, and you come to realise that the list is endless. Lets just hope that’s not the case for this dire trilogy.

Verdict.
Predicable, bargain basement fodder hardly worthy of renting let alone buying. Bloody awful.

Extras:

Bar one shoddy Making of Doc, which actually manages to garner more interest than the entire film does itself. But still, that’s not saying a whole lot really.
