Bring It On: All Or Nothing (2006) Synopsis:

"Bring It On 3" is a sassy and spirited production with new moves, new music and eye-popping dance sequences. Britney Allen (Hayden Panettiere) is living the dream -- the cheerleader's dream. At the elite seaside campus of Pacific Vista High School, Britney is captain of the cheerleading squad and the envy of everyone at school -- including one overly-ambitious teammate. When Britney hears about a forthcoming audition for a top cheer squad to appear in recording star Rihanna's upcoming television special, she is determined that her Pirates cheer squad will capture the coveted spot. But Britney's life turns from cheer-topia to cheer-tastrophe when her father's job takes her family to Crenshaw Heights, a multi-ethnic working-class neighborhood east of Los Angeles. At her new school, Britney is viewed with suspicion by most of the students, especially by Camille (Solange Knowles Smith), the overly confident and acerbic leader of the Crenshaw Heights Warriors cheerleading squad. No one is more surprised than Camille, however, when Britney proves herself and secures a spot on the Warriors' cheer squad. Britney and her new teammates work feverishly to prepare for the audition for Rihanna, incorporating some edgy new moves into their performance. Now the pressure is on, as the Warriors find themselves locked in a high-stakes cheer-off with Pacific Vista, Britney's old school! During the climactic, no-holds-barred fight to the finish, friendships, loyalties and talents are tested -- but only one team can come out on top.

Bring It On: All Or Nothing (2006) DVD Review:

It seems that a franchise has been created out of the teen cheerleader film Bring It On, which was a fairly entertaining film thanks to a talented and energetic young cast. The sequel went straight to video, and the third film in the franchise, Bring It On: All Or Nothing, followed the same path. The story may change slightly and the actors may be different, but some of the spunk survived in the latest sequel. The first one actually brought in a few unusual audience members because of the hip young cast and the humor, but the sequels are better reserved for a pre-teen cheer sleepover.

Bring It On: AON tries desperately to bring something new to the franchise by throwing out the rules. While the first films were at least attempting to stay within the confines of standard cheer competitions, but the latest sequel throws a chance to perform in a music video at the cheerleaders, which leads to an impromptu dance-off at the end of the film in which all of the rules are thrown out. Part of the inspiration for this change in the cheer routines was inspired by Rize, a documentary about krumping. Krumping is a violent dance style which has formed in Los Angeles, and it is mostly a way for them to express their frustration instead of joining gangs. Watching these kids, even the ones from the supposed rough school of Crenshaw, attempt to reenact this dance style is awful. There is none of the heart or talent that made Rize fun to watch.

The other new plot element in Bring It On: AON is the fish-out-of-water twist. Britney (Hayden Panettiere) is forced to move from a rich and white school to a new school in Crenshaw, where she doesn’t blend well. Somehow growing up a rich white girl left her with plenty of attitude to spare, and she immediately becomes an asset on the new cheer squad, which puts her as a rival with her old squad.

The DVD has a number of special features, many of which can be skipped. The gag reel is filled with countless scenes of Hayden Panettiere acting goofy and giggling. She is actual more entertaining in-between takes than in the film. The rest of the blooper reel is filled with horrible cheer falls which may give you slightly more respect for them. There is also a featurette about the dance choreography, as well as a dance tutorial led by choreographer Tony G. There is also a small bit about the krumping moves, which is also sadly disappointing.
