Marshall Lawson loses his strike-team in a cold-blooded and seemingly random attack. After this he takes it upon himself to investigate the suspicious circumstances of the brutal killings. Soon he uncovers CTX Majestic, a covert military operation so secret, that now the military wants Marshall eliminated. Resolute in his pursuit, Marshall engages in a merciless battle with a drug dealer operation that appears to be secretly funded by a rogue arm of the military.
Here is yet another Steven Seagal bomb coming straight-to-video with hardly a whimper. These films have gotten worse, and Seagal’s career is on a steady decline which has already gone off the charts. He started as an admirable action star we could laugh at and root for at the same time. He even made a few films which were decent more than just in B-film quality, but those films are gone. So much time has gone by that the humor is even gone. Now these films are just bad action movies, and Attack Force may be one of the worst yet.
Seagal is back this time as Marshall Lawson, a strike-team leader who loses his whole team in a ruthless slaying. It’s the future and not only do they all wear futuristic clothing, but there are covert military operations underfoot which could destroy all of humanity of Steven Seagal doesn’t beat the world to safety. As ridiculous as this may sound, I assure you that it is not even entertaining as a joke. The conclusion of the film is a predictable battle against an entire army, but he is Seagal and in his fantasy world all things are possible; even a hit movie.
As ridiculous as the costumes are in this strange film, this isn’t the worst of the horrible production values. There must have been problems during the shoot, because aside from the inconsistent photography the film is filled with dubbed dialogue, which works fine for most actors, but Seagal’s voiceover work is transparently off. Not only do the lips hardly match up, but the voice suddenly changes in tone suddenly when the dubbing begins, and he hardly sounds like the same person. Perhaps some of this has to do with the entire film being filmed entirely on location in Romania, but whatever the excuse it makes for lousy a lousy film.
