American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile DVD Review

The only way that the American Pie series is able to continue is through family members and Eugene Levy. Since there was no way to add family members to Jim’s family, after he was married the series drifted over the Stifler family. After the role Seann William Scott made so entertaining became one of the more successful characters in the series, the sequels following have followed his brothers and their sexual escapades in high school. The below average Band Camp tried to duplicate the original Stifler, in looks and in personality, but it wasn’t able to capture the same energy as Scott’s Stifler. The latest in the series makes a wise choice in making Eric Stifler much more likable. Essentially by placing a Jim-like-character in the Stifler family this film seems to be attempting to grasp onto the success of the original films. Fortunately all of this is irrelevant for viewers who just want to see naked college girls running.

Eric Stifler even has the same problem as Jim; he’s a virgin. To make matters worse he is held to higher standards being a Stifler, so be begins to pressure his girlfriend to sleep with him. After several typical American Pie embarrassing moments Eric is given a free pass for the weekend by his girlfriend. Because she isn’t ready to have sex, she lets him go to a notorious college event with his cousin (a more typical Stifler) in which thousands of students run naked through the campus. The Naked Mile was started by Jim’s Dad, bringing Eugene Levy back into the series again. Once Eric has the freedom to sleep with any college girl he meets he has to make a choice; whether to be true to his namesake or his girlfriend.

The humor has turned to complete raunchiness in the latest film, with spraying semen being used as often as possible, preferably when it lands on people. There are four-hour erections, vibrators and more. They are just as flippant with drinking and drugs as well, including sever types of drugs and countless alcohol. Besides being vulgar in many different ways, there is an odd fascination with making little people look good. They are better football players than everyone else and they attract all of the women as well. The Unrated DVD seems silly considering there was never a rated version for fans to see, but there is plenty of nudity, so some teenagers will be excited.

The DVD has several special features, which are almost all more entertaining than they are at all informative or interesting. There is a guide to picking up girls in a yoga class by the leading actress, who is much more engaging than the pathetic actor used to try and add humor to the pointless featurette. There is also a featurette about the preparation for the nude scenes, but this just includes the waxing of the male butts. There are also deleted scenes, outtakes, and a featurette on the little people stunts.
