Ja Rule 2005 DVD Review:
Actor/rapper Ja Rule first found success with his 1999 album release of debut album Venni Vetti Vecci. Produced by Irv Gotti, the album boasted guest performances from such major hip hop names as Memphis Bleek, DMX and Jay-Z and Nemesis. The album included the successful singles “Holla Holla,” “It’s Murda,” and “Daddy’s Little Girl,” which featured a duet with Ronald Isley.
In 2000, Ja Rule released his sophomore album, Rule 3:36 which quickly went triple platinum. The album featured the hit singles “Between Me and You,” which featured a performance from Christina Milian, “I Cry,” and “Put It On Me.”
With the enormous success of his second album, Ja Rule quickly release his next album in 2001, titled Pain Is Love. This album too went triple platinum and boasted guest performances from Ashanti (whom Ja Rule discovered), Jennifer Lopez and Missy Elliot. The album included singles “Always On Time,” “I’m Real,” and “Down Ass Bitch.”
Ja Rule’s success started to cool with the release of his fourth and fifth albums, Last Temptation and Blood In My Eye. Neither album found a tremendous amount of success and neither managed to reach gold or platinum status.
