Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore (1974) Synopsis:

In the Oscar winning film Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore directed by Martin Scorsese Ellen Burstyn plays Alice Hyatt whose husband unexpectedly dies leaving her with no money and an 11-year-old son to support.

The two begin in California and travel to find a better life, which soon finds the two of them in Phoenix where Alice takes a waitressing job and soon meets a generous man.
