After Tom Skerritt successfully blew up "pimpin'" in the movie, I actually clapped and cheered about that and laughed my ass off. I think it was because I was glad that a person who acted that bad in his life finally got
his "just desserts" and I thought it came about in a funny way.
Makes me I want to do the same thing to those gang members who act in a similar fashion as they drive their buick regals, oldsmobiles, and big old long cadillacs.
...Tom Skerritt takes the Orange Water Balloon and attaches it to a hand grenade. He then watches "pimpin'" and some of his cronies get in this big old long cadillac. Tom Skerritt then drops the live hand grenade with the water ballon attached from the roof of the bar. The water from the ballon splashes all over "pimpin'". Then "pimpin'" responds, "Ah, man!
what Kind of Shit is this?" As the camera pans wide in the movie a few moments of silence and then "boom!"
Having stated all of that in the prior three comments (since there was no room to say it in one box), the only thing to state is as follows:
The last 10 minutes of the movie was as funny as hell (in my opinion).
There's this violent black dude driving around in a big old long cadillac acting just like "pimpin'," as portrayed in the movie. Tom Skerritt gets back at "pimpin'" by mounting his assault from the roof of a bar. Using an orange balloon, filling it with bottled water....
.... Where like the guy in this movie did, had to also do in real life which was "Stick one foot in the cranium and another foot in the ass of these violent people" since the cops wouldn't do anything about it. This is one of those "kick ass" movies that evokes that powerful message, even though it is a very old film.
....(continued comment from earlier posting) ...the law actually acts indifferent and actually does nothing about the violence in his home and community, the hero (played by Tom Skerritt) actually goes out and eradicates the hoodlums in this community in Philadelphia who are causing problems to make sure he and his family are at peace and that these criminals don't do it to anybody else. This is a movie that describes me dealing with a similar experience in California a number of years ago....
The movie is very true to life even though it is an extremely violent movie with strong language and adult themes; however, it conveys in a very true and accurate way the method and just how violent and dangerous gang members are. It also shows the hero in the movie who is tired of puting up with a lot of the nonsensical violence (especially after his wife in the move miscarries their unborn child due to the violence). Since it hits home and the apathetic police or the law actually act....
