Synopsis

In early 1950s Trinidad, Mr. Emery is found in the water by local fisherman, a bullet in his head from a possible suicide attempt. The police and American consulate must inform his wife, Chris, who is the Trinidad Lady down at the club Caribe. Chris, played by Rita Hayworth, is the ultimate femme fatale, having every man in town eating out of the palm of her hand. This includes the very wealthy Max Fabian. Neither she nor the local law enforcement believes that Neil Emery killed himself, but that Fabian is somehow involved in his death. Fabian had done some espionage work for both sides during the war and they are wary of his activities in Trinidad. They plan to use Chris to get to him, but their plans are complicated when Neil’s brother, Steve, shows up after receiving a mysterious letter from his dead brother.
