Don Cheadle looks to have been signed up to star in and also direct a biopic based on the life of famous jazzman Miles Davis.

It is thought that he will direct the project after Antoine Fuqua was originally interested but is no longer involved after the huge length of time it took for the producers to secure film rights to Davis's music.

The script by Chris Wilkinson and Steve Rivele will follow his life as a short-temper and frequent drug use drew him sharp criticism, and yet he managed to essentially help reform the genre of jazz three times in his life.
