Mt Name is Earl star Jason Lee has signed on to star and produce rock flick Krater.

The movie will be set in the late 1970s and early '80s, and will follow the leader (Lee) of a rock band known as Krater who struggle with massive success after hiring a new lead singer with hidden Broadway ambitions...

No director is attached yet but the script has been written by J.D. Ryznar, with an eye to start filming in May, during Lee's summer break from Earl.
