Rising star Katherine Heigl has signed on to star in 27 Dresses.

The Grey's Anatomy star will film the flick in her summer break from the TV show, and the flick will follow a single woman who has served as a bridesmaid 27 times. She is enlisted once again for the job, and this time it's particularly painful: Her sister is marrying the man the bridesmaid is madly in love with.

Anne Fletcher will direct with the script by Aline Brosh McKenna.
