Tom Cruise has signed on to star in Bryan Singer's WWII flick!

The movie was already being produced by his new/rejuvenated United Artists shingle, but now he's agreed to take a leading role in the flick that Singer will squeeze in before he makes the next Superman flick next year.

There's very little details on the plot so far other than it will be a multi character thriller, and will centre on a plot by German generals to assassinate Hitler at the height of World War II.

The Usual Suspects writer Chris McQuarrie has penned the script.

Filming will take place this summer.
