Looks like the cast for the Wachowski brothers next flick is getting firmed up with the news that Christina Ricci has jumped onboard for a major role in Speed Racer!

She will play Trixie, Speed's loyal and courageous girlfriend, who also proves to be a formidable ally both on and off the racetrack, Speed is being played by Emile Hirsch.

Filming starts this summer for a 9th May 2008 release!
