Headline: Spielberg/Jackson take on Tintin!

News breaks today that Steven Spielberg has signed up Peter Jackson to work with him on bringing Tintin to the big screen.

The plan is that there will be three Tintin movies based on three of Herges 23 books. It hasn't been revealed which three books though. Spielberg will direct one, Jackson another, and no word who will direct the third one.

The movies will be CG, using motion capture, much like Robert Zemeckis did with The Polar Express.

Spielberg and Jackson will also produce the movies alongside Kathleen Kennedy at Dreamworks.

Spielberg had this to say "We want Tintin's adventures to have the reality of a live-action film, and yet Peter and I felt that shooting them in a traditional live-action format would simply not honor the distinctive look of the characters and world that Hergé created."
