Yes we've been hearing rumours all over the place these last few weeks over who will be getting what role in Zack Snyder's next movie Watchmen.

You know, the one where he takes on probably the greatest and most complex graphic novel of the 20th Century, no mean feat and has scared off many a director over the last twenty years including Terry Gilliam and Paul Greengrass, two men who, if anyone could handle such a gargangtuan project they could. But Snyder looks to be made of much stronger stuff and has started out excellently with the following cast list which is near damn perfect!

He's gone for people who can act, aren't stars, in fact some of them are pretty much unknown, but some of them are some of the finest young actors around. But all of them are unknown enough so that you'll be watching them as the characters, not the person, an excellent start for a project where the story should be the star.

Jackie Earle Haley will play Rorschach/Walter Kovacs.
Billy Crudup will play Dr. Manhattan.
Malin Akerman will play Laurie Juspeczyk/the Silk Spectre.
Matthew Goode will play Adrian Veidt/Ozymandias.
Patrick Wilson will play Nite-Owl/Daniel Dreiberg

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is The Comedian/Edward Blake.

The plot of Watchmen follows costumed hero Rorschach, who is living a vigilante lifestyle because most masked heroes have retired or been outlawed. While investigating a murder, Rorschach learns that a former masked-hero colleague has been killed, prompting him to begin investigating a possible conspiracy. It's also a deconstruction of the superhero genre, an attack on US foreign policy, and a whole lot of other things.
