Nicole Kidman and Ralph Fiennes have signed on to star in The Reader.

The movie will centre on a man recounting the story of his erotic awakening in a covert love affair with an older woman in the wake of WWII.

Stephen Daldry will direct from a script by David Hare.

The Weinstein Co. will distribute.
