Headline: Eric Bana is Star Trek villain!

Eric Bana has joined the ever burgeoning cast of JJ Abrams Star Trek reboot.

Not content with having already signed up Anton Yelchin, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana and Leonard Nimoy he's signed Bana up to play the villain of the piece Nero.

Now there's no actual word on what his role will entail, but roman like in character with a name like that, hell I'm going to take a wild stab that he's a romulan. Rumour also has it that he'll feature in the flashback sequences and also the Nimoy sequences.

Now all we need is a Captain Kirk and we may have news on the confirmation of that shortly as word has Chris Pine up for that role. Ok he was in Just My Luck with Lindsay Lohan, but don't hold that against him as he was utterly amazing in Smokin' Aces. You don't remember him in that? He was one of the three nutso nazi hitmen and was rather brilliant. Unfortunately his schedule is packed and the studios are trying to work out a way for him to do the flick.
