Yes you read that right, we've been hearing about talk of a Wolverine movie for years, and to be honest we were never that sure it was going to ever happen.
But we're really glad to say that today news comes in that the movie is a go! The release date has even been set as 1st May 2009.
Hugh Jackman is locked of course, would be a waste of time without him. Word also has Lieve Schrieber playing a younger version of William Stryker.
And yes, that does mean that this is a prequel to the X-men movies, as it will explore Wolverine's violent and romantic past, and his complex relationship with Victor Creed and the ominous Weapon X program, as well as his encounters with other mutants.
Gavin Hood will direct, based on a script by David Benioff, for 20th Century Fox.
