Jennifer Connelly has signed on to co-star alongside Keanu Reeves in The Day the Earth Stood Still.

Also signed on for the sc-fi flick today is Kathy Bates.

The flick will follow Reeves and Connelly, who fight back after aliens land on Earth promising peace...or be destroyed!

Scott Derrickson will direct based on the screenplay by Ryne Douglas Pearson and David Scarpa for 20th Century Fox.
