Headline: Sienna Miller fights G.I. Joe!

Sienna Miller has been revealed today as the first confirmed actor for Paramount's big screen G.I. Joe movie.

She is the first confirmed name, although rumours have Sam Worthington up for the lead role.

She will play will play the film's female lead, described as a raven-haired baroness and sexy femme fatale skilled in espionage.

Stephe Sommers will direct (here's hoping he reigns in the CG), from a script by Stuart Beattie. The story is set at Brussels-based GIJOE, an acronym for the Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity, and revolves around an international co-ed force of operatives who use high-tech equipment to battle Cobra, an evil org headed by a Scottish arms dealer.


The release date has already been pencilled in as 7th August 2009.
