Headline: Crowe splits from Luhrmann project

Gladiator star Russell Crowe was long attached to star opposite Nicole Kidman in Moulin Rouge director Baz Luhrmann’s Australian period epic but has now left the project. Brokeback Mountain lead Heath Ledger has since passed on the role. Fox are still going ahead with the project.
