20th Century Fox has revealed what has been rumoured for a good while. a 24 movie IS in development!

The series creators Robert Cochran and Joel Surnow, as well as showrunner Howard Gordon are starting to write the script, with Gordon working on the story. All three will produce via their Real Time Productions, as will Imagine Entertainments Brian Grazer.

Kiefer Sutherland isn't officialy onboard yet, but he's long announced that he wants to be in the 24 movie when it eventually got made.

The writers will start work on the script this summer, during production of series 6, they'll be busy!, with a first draft ready by winter. Now does this mean they'll be ready to film the movie by next summer? Seems like that's the plan.

Current plan calls for the 24 feature to abandon the real-time conceit of the TV show, making Sutherland's Jack Bauer, rather than the clock, the star.
