Philip Seymour Hoffman has been signed up alongside Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts to star in Charlie Wilson's War. The movie will follow a rogue congressman and CIA agent who found the means to secretly arm rebels to fight against invading Soviet troops in Afghanistan in the early 1980s. Hoffman will play the CIA agent. Before he joins that movie though he has also signed on to star alongside Ethan Hawke in Before the Devil Knows You're Dead for Sidney Lumet.
