Julia Roberts production co. Red Om has joined Walden Media and Goldsmith-Thomas Productions to develop movies based on Mattel's American Girl toy dolls. The first movie they are developing will be based on the doll Kit Kittredge, the American Girl character who endures hardships growing up during the Great Depression. No word if Roberts will take the lead role, but why would her production co. develop this if it wasn't as a vehicle for her?
